Melbourne Community Gamelan Inc. will be presenting 3 wayang kulit (shadow puppet) performances in July 2015 with a special guest.
Ki Midiyanto is an internationally renowned dhalang from Wonogiri, Central Java (Indonesia). He teaches gamelan at the University of California, Berkeley, USA.
All performances accompanied by full Central Javanese gamelan. Musical director: Ki Poedijono
Monday 27 July, 7-8.30 pm. “Wahyu Cakraningrat”, 210 Berkeley Street, Carlton (upstairs). Venue is not wheelchair accessible. Admission free, no booking required.
Thursday 30 July, 11.00 am-12 midday and 1.30-2.30 pm. “Anoman Duta”. Admission: $12.00 at Renaissance Theatre, Kew High School, 826A High Street, Kew. These performances are primarily for school students, but members of the public are also very welcome. Individuals can pay at the door, no booking required.
